impressive times especially at part throttle, when exactly do you plan on running it all out?

A year since making my 1st passes in the Firebird and with only 1 race remaining of the '09 season, thought it time for an update...

Spun #3 rod bearing, grenading my shortblock March 24th on it's 168 pass.

After not making another pass in the Firebird for 2 months, I have since logged 150+ passes and saved my season, qualifying for the NED Bracket Finals at both ETown and Island Dragway with a number of late round appearances as well got my 1st win in the Firebird.

A few photos and videos since my last post...

Don't know why it spun a rod bearing after 166 passes without a hint of trouble and never will.

Except #4/the adjacent bearing being a little smoked, all the other bearings were perfect.

A few self proclaimed internet experts think the cause was the restrictor plate or the wheels up launches.

I along with the builder of the 522 as well my previous engine builder for the past 13 years KNOW that neither were the cause!

Perhaps it was the lack of rim screws!

Chaulk it up to shit happens and that's racing!

What's Rick's best numbers to date?
