That was quite the concussion, I didn't hear if anyone got it. Normally we aren't aimed at the cars between burnouts and staging so the chances are low :mad2:

The second vid is pretty tell tale of how fast that happened and how hard it was. You can hear the engine is already full, not even shutting off the power would have stopped it before it blew. Hope all were OK.

. . . the second video is great. He double checked it last night and one of the nitrous soleniods on the second system stuck open. He shut all the nitrous electric off before he tried to refire the engine but it didn't matter because the soleniod was already open. Just an FYI, niether Jeff or any of the crew could see the nitrous coming outta the scoop because of the angles they were at and all of it happened pretty quick considering he needed to get into the beams asap.

You don't have to tell me that Paulie, Nick Montana and Leo Barnaby had gone over this before with me when that motor zings like that, as soon as the smoke clears from the the engine it will grab all the air and "Bam", he had no chance to stop that once it got enough air in it, best wishes to them getting it fixed up. I was fixated on that area for the longet time andusually I flinch and shoot but that was a split second. Not a great rememberance but something they could keep if any of us could catch it.

The intake is already off and getting fixed, it didn't hurt the runners or top plate because he had the peddle to the floor while cranking it to try and clear the nitrous before he fired it back up, that probably saved alot of damage to the carbs and engine. The throttle blades appear to be bowed just a little so they're going out to get checked anyhow and the engine is coming out tonight just to smoke it over real quick but everything seems to be fine there.

This happened to Mark Bowen wayyy back in the day, same situaton Paulie, Ibet the motor is OK too, it just stays up top, you can see the moke clear when he cranks it. Marks blew off just as they started to lift the hood and it really took off, they went back and it started and ran fine.

Eddie Burnley had the worst one I ever saw down at MIR. It completely tore the front end off his car, it hurt the frame and even unbeeded the front tire on the car in the other lane  .

I remember that one, I think Chris Simmons shot it also, these days the cars are tuned and monitored so well it's rare to see it anymore.

Wow, nice grab Seth, looks like some fans may have gotten a couple of souveniers in the stands out of that one.

I was at the 1000ft with my wife at the fench and felt it from there!

Until I saw that second video on the Yellow Bullet I had no idea why it happened.

If they saw the fog rolling out of the front of the scoop they would never had tried to re-start it.
