Is there an easy way to tell if my flexplate is on backwards? My starter pinion keeps getting stuck in the ring gear, and shims dont seem to be helping. I've tried two different starters, same thing. Its also turning the engine really slow acting like a dead battery. This is with a 225 Amp charger on it. Any ideas?

did you try shimming it on just one side? Cut a shim in half and use both halfs on the inner bolt of the starter. The flexplate has raised bolts holes on it for the torque converter, make sure their facing towards the converter.

The raised part is facing the t/c. I'll try shimming one side.
