what is the most cubic inch i can get out of my 454 block?[standard height] thinking it might just be cheaper to buy new rotating assembly and have some machine work done instead of buying a whole new motor, im presently a 468 13/8/1 on e85. but would like to go big inch low compression with procharger. thanks ken

I know for a fact you can go at least 540 ;)

But to keep it sane you can go 496.

you CANNOT bore a 454 block out to a 4.5 inch bore to build a 540.
you can and I have done it bore a 454 block .125 over but that was with the block half filled
the bore was then 4.375.

Just to revisit this. Completely forgot about it. Wanted to post this a while ago
BUT, HotRod1451 you are very mistaken..
YOU CAN build a 555 BBC from a 454 block.

Proof....
