I posted this in general tech but I think I should have posted here instead:

I am building a mild 406 mainly for cruising on the street and mild towing (it's in a 93 Chevy 1500 shortbed P/U). I haven't picked a cam yet but it is going to be for low end torque probably in the range of 1000-5500 RPMs.Heads are Trick Flow super 23 195's. Comp should be9-9.5:1 . trans will be a bulit 700 R4 w/ 1500-1800 stall conv. (more than likely). Carbs I was thinking of using was either a Quick Fuel 650 or 680 Vac. , Proform 650 Vac. ,Demon 650 or Holley Street Avenger 670. I have used the Holley before but wanted to try something different.

Are any of these more superior to the other?

What are the adavantages vs. disadvantages to either of the carbs.

Has any body used any of these carbs? how did you like or dislike it?

Thanks in advance for any advice you may have.

Just go with a Holley 750 single pump and itll run like a champ.I got a 350 in my chevelle with cast iron heads,9.5-1 compression, cam from 1,600-6,000rpm, and a Weiand street warrior dual plane intake, and this thing runs!.

problem with the demon carb is the fittings and jets only fit the demon , so if you have any holley stuff already its useless .
plus demon has quality issues lately
hard to beat a holley out of the box and most all the aftermarket ones - AFD, QUICKFUEL ,ETC, are excellant if you want to spend the extra bucks
