i am building a 496 bbc with ported oval port heads trying to pick out pistons and was wondering if i can run 11.2 to 1 compression with iron heads and run 93 octane or what mix of fuel i would need and a good cam to run for street and strip use

With the right cam and tune yes, did it for many years with my cast iron oval port headed 468 that made north of 700HP which accelerated my 3880 lb. Chevelle to a best of 10.07 @ 131 and a 1.28 60 foot launching off the footbrake backed by a turbo400, 8" converter and 4.10 gear
