I just finished up a build for a buddy on his 89 Mustang 5.0 motor.

There is a threaded hole in the very back of the block ( maybe 1/2 inch), between the intake and the bellhousing. ( top of the block) If you follow the passage into the bell area, it looks to go into an oil galley.

Is there suppose to be a block off plug there or a sending unit? I don't remeber anything going there, if it was a plug the machine shop would have pulled it to tank it and i guess we never got it back.

I'll try to get a pick of where i mean.

Any help would be great.

Thanks

hey Blake- thats a machining hole to drill the oil passage from the mains to the lifter bores , needs to be plugged , both blocks i have here have a little freeze plug in them .

hate when the shop does that , Musi did that to me years ago on a 340 block , pulled a plug in the lifter galley i missed and i did not know was there and no oil pressure on start up :mad2:

at least if they handed it back in a baggie you'd know to look for it
