ladder bar with c-notch for drag use.
i am getting back into a project i started a while back which is an 85' ford ranger with an s&w ladder bar kit in the rear. i installed the kit years ago but i am unhappy with the ride height. the ladder bar kit is of corse adjustable but if i attempt to lower it anymore i will run into axle travel issues. so what i am looking to do is use a c-notch kit to gain clearance rather than installing re-arched frame rails. can anybody give me any insight as to any possible issues with this set-up being used for drag racing. the c-notch kit i was looking into is all 3/16th plate and welds in place and looks pretty stout. any thoughts????

as long as you dont go but 1/2 the thickness of frame and weld in a round plate and a small fin plate across the top (think I-beam).i would be worried about rear weight on rear frame rails . the minny trucks do this but flex and bend if loaded
