Big Money 10.00 Race

Post by Matt Jewell »

I think we talked about this a year ago. It would be nice to see a race with at least a $1000. to win for 10.00 Index style racing. $50.-75. entry fee, minimum 32 car field, loosen up some of the rules if necessary to get car count up, and have a good time. I planned on taking off this year from racing, but would be willing to put up $250. of my own money (and probably can get some others involved) if something could be put together in the fall of 2010 at a track that wants the racers and would be willing to prep the track, and treat them fairly. Weekend event, not cluttered with 15 other classes with no chance of being finished. What do you think? I am always that guy that thinks if racers work together something can get accomplished, but that may not always be realistic.

Excellent idea Matt. You put in $250 you are 1/4 way there.
As a promoter of other series I find the biggest problem is always the sharing of the purse with tracks. They have the play ground and usually get a cut there starts the pitfall.

I hope this year's tweaks to my ride get me to the point where I can compete and if I can, I would support you

What? Tow all the way to Cecil County to race for $1000 when I can stay right at home and race at E-Town for $150........

October 9th, I'd be in! Let us run slicks so I don't have to swap wheels. :)

But, doesn't matter to me. I have two sets. Had to get them for the occasional trip to Atco, might as well use them!

Mark, do you have the inside scoop on this date at Cecil? My days of putting on races are over for now, but I would definately work with others for the same cause, and help pull together some cash. If $750 or more of sponsor money was pulled together, and say 30 cars at $50 per head, that would be an additional $1500. It would be nice to have a larger pay day at the end of the season to hve guys gear up for, and make it worth racers to travel some distance.

I just sent an E-mail to Nate in regards to the OCt. date at Cecil. I'll report back if anything is possible, but that seems to be an ideal date/location. If it can't happen, any other ideas?

I received an E-mail back from the Pritchett Bros., and there seems to be an opportunity for the Oct. date at Cecil. I'm going to try to call Adam today and discuss details. Start inquiring about money and sponsors.

Thanks for heading this up Matt!!! Im sure the rest of the 10 ooh racers do also. I email Nate in the fall and asked him if he would consider adding 10.0 class to his series and he said he would let us know. Just trying to get another series to run at and maybe more money? This would mean more traveling to follow.
Anyway let us know what you need (sponsors etc.) We have a couple of racers that have business and maybe they would like to kick in towards the purse.

Thank-you Iceman !!!! Maybe we can get a few more and make this event the one we talk about all year! It will be off the Hook for sure. Who knows maybe the purse will be larger than anticipate!

After speaking with Adam yesterday, I think things are looking good for Oct. at Cecil. They are into the Index deal, and this would be a good opportunity to open the doors to more events. I mentioned the fact that Atco and Cecil were supposed to run the same rules as each other this season. To make the big payout, additional sponsors will be of interest, and maybe money could increase depending on the number of cars and additonal sponsors. It's important for everyone to work together. Even in this economy, I would hope a 32 car field would be possible with a good pay day and 8 months to promote it. I did offer the possibility for pre registration for this event with a discount to the racers for doing so. So lets here from the racers.

I also know one of the index racers with a ton of money , he works at a refinery. Im sure he would be willing to put in some of his 401k towards the purse... Since he is so willing to take money from business in this recession....... I also heard he has been working a ton of overtime..... lol

Yeah, my bad, I did talk to them about it. They said there is a possibility fitting in Index stuff at the Cecil race, we have lots of time to figure out the specifics. I would like to hit up the GDR sponsors for some prize money as well, see if we can get a nice pot going. Also I know you guys have talked about it before but if you wanted to increase the buy-in and have that extra money go right to the prize pool even more, that always works too.
