2 Step RPM
What would be the best rpm to leave on in a 406 powered drag car with a 6000 stall converter ? It stalls @ 6000 with the chip out and brake engaged. I shift @ 7200 and cross @ 7400. Its a 2980 lb. Camaro 14.5 x 32 with a 1.76 glide and 5.38 gears.Cam is a 279 286 @.050 679 645 lift. 108 ls. Car has ran a 10.30 leaving @4600, just wondering if i'm leaving to high or to low.

Re: 2 Step RPM
WELL 6000 is alittle high for a 3.75 arm .
did ya dyno the engine and found its pk tq. that high?
that sounds like a 3.48 3.52 converter in a sbc .

Testing!
you know what it does at 4600.
so now you need to test.
try lower then try higher, same day making a change every run.
you will find what you car likes.
