Strong street or Race Chevy 350 shortblock . I've had this stuff for 20 years, it's all new except the block itself. I hope you recognize the value of just the crank. Don't call or email to say " I can buy an entire SCAT or Eagle kit for less than that". I don't care. this stuff is all 100% USA. Anyway, the guy had ordered this whole kit from California Crankshaft. The block is an early, thickwall 010 casting that was completely done, fitted for the pistons, line honed, decking and all that good stuff. I sprayed the bores & entire block with Starrett storage oil and redid it a few times over the years, but it is stored in my shed, so it may need a quick hone, for cleaning only(it will probably clean right up with WD40 and scotchbrite.. All the other parts have been stored in my DRY basement. I saw no surface rust on anything at last inspection. The Heart of the cost is the crank($2000) it's a Crower 4340 unit, it has the heavier fillets like some of the newest ones, the journals are sure mirror polished, It's unique in that it has a 3.832 stroke,(not CID) It works out to something like 391 CID with the .030 bore. AGAIN- this is NOT a 383 stroker. Crank weighs 54 lbs and NOT knife edged. The rods are Childs & Albert 'I' beam and are clearanced for the stroke and are floated onto Ross ,400 series, Forged, 4.030 pistons. The comp. distance on the pistons is appx. 1.397 as close as I can measure it-they are completely flat on top with two deep reliefs. They are not gas ported and comes with Speed Pro ring set 9343+.035. . new top quality bearings also. This Kit was supposedly pre-assembled, all clearances verified( I since lost that paperwork of course). The bottom end is all balanced. I realize these days you may have to separate the rods as many guys want 'H' beams , but this intended to be a strong street engine and I'm sure those old, American made Childs & Alberts "I' beam rods are more than strong enough for what this was designed for. The crank is still wrapped in 1992 newspaper so I'm sure it was USA made and when last I checked they are still $2000. For everything I mentioned above, ( Block, crank, rods, pistons, rings and bearings ) I want $2900 and there is no negotiating. I'm not hurting for money so save your lowball offers. I do have pics of the crank rod pistons, everything else is still stored away.
I ALSO have some other real good parts (listed below)I got with that kit or along the way. THESE PARTS ARE NOT INCLUDED & also not for sale separately at this time. It's stuff I could easily sell & ship on ebay as long as I sell it a few $$ cheaper than the on-line ebay speed shops do, but If you buy the block crank, rods, pistons then I'll kinda let you name the price you can pay for the other stuff you may want-- AS LONG AS IT'S A REASONABLE PRICE. I know what it costs. I guess you know that most of these parts will also fit the LT-1 & LT-4 of the 90's.
