I have a 78 malibu that I just put together it has a 383 small block with a th350 trans with a TCI street fighter convetor 241001 and a 9 inch with 410 gears and 2756015 et streets. My 60 ft was 1.7-1.8 all night I felt like the car just wasn't leaving hard. I line it up foot on the brake it stalls at 2400-2500 then when the light turns green I floor it. I am a master tech but new at racing am I doing something wrong?

That's a generic converter, sort of one size fits all. A good convertor will want motor specifics and car weight and what type of suspension. Did you try and leave at slightly lower launch rpms and let it flash. Was the motor dyno'd to find peak torque? You will have to try different things with your combo to find what it likes. Is the jetting and timing spot on to make the most hp? You want a crisp idle so it doesn't load up while staging.
