Excessive heat build up in main cap

HAs anyone ever had to replace a set of main caps becuase oil pump locked up and there was excesive buildup of heat due to metal on metal? Someone told me I should replace my mains due to this but Ive never had to replace them before from a pump failure. The mains were def pretty tore up but if I can save a few hundered by not doing them then Id rather spend the money else where

I would atleast get the mains line bored to make sure this isn't a problem, especially if they are really tore up.

And what brand pump locked up?
