SBC help

Post by whoboy580 »

Hey guys I am new to building a race motor. I got a SBC 350 4 bolt main 1 piece rear main seal. 10243880-Block Number. I recently purchased pistons. They are Speed Pro L2256F030. Which are just forged piston .030. My question is if i purchase this crankshaft (SCA-435010L) whats connecting rods would you recommand. My pistons are Press Fit. I know I want to make the whole Bottom End Forged too.

Thanks for help

Eagle SIR rod is a decent choice, or a set of comparative Scat I beams..

Buy the rods bushed.. the press fit pin is part of the rod and not the piston i wouldnt bother with press fit rods..

How much power do you plan on making? If your only going to make 400 or so HP an "I" beam is fine. If your going to put killer heads on, or spray N20 then i'd be looking at a "H" beam rod. Since you already have pistons, they will dictate the length of rod you can run. I lean towards the H beams in anything i build, they are fractionally more expensive, but in most cases alot stronger, of course there is a weight penalty, but most cranks will balance without mallory nowadays when using an H beam.
