check for play in the shaft

Play in the shaft will tell you if you should park it. Rev the engine with the rad cap off and see if the level drops that will tell you if you have flow. Pulling the belt will tell you if the bearing is on its way out.

tire fryer........i doubt you think it's a POS just because of the water pump. I'm sure you have well over 100,000 miles on that thing. I'm sure it was due. NOW.........take a look at my situation with my 05' Silverado 2500HD.....I had to put a water pump and a steering box on it under 70,000 miles. That surprised the hell outta me. Granted it was all under warranty , but still seems odd to me.

I only like it cause whoever bought it b4 me ordered every option in 97 the 2 things it doesn't have 4 wheel drive=dont need it,and running lamps original price $34,000,00 i paid 18,500.00!Its a pos cause i never had so many problems engine light comes on goes off all the time, had rear replaced once(under warr) it starting to go again WHO THE PHUCK order's a 360 cube with 3.91 gears its fast thats bout it......I WILL AGAIN SOMEDAY OWN ANOTHER 69 DART HAD MINE FOR 11 YRS 324,000 MILES NEVER PUT ALOT INTO IT 1 REAR AND ONE TRANNY NO ENGINE WORK EVER,WAS TIRED OF THE ELECTRICAL PROBLEMS IT'S JUST I CANT DO NOTHING BUT CHANGE OIL,ROTATE TIRES, FRONT DISC'S EVERTHING IS SO F'N COMPLICATED.

ITS NOT A POS CAUSE OF WATERPUMP. I CAN GO ON FOR HOURS WHITH THIS. I GOTTA HIT THE SACK 16 HRS DAY TUESDAY.......... MY MOM CALLS ME THE CONSTANT BITCHER???????
ONLY BOUGHT IT CAUSE I NEEDED SOMETHING THAT DAY AND I'M 6'4" NEED THAT LEG ROOM

You sound like the kids at work ,422 is only 1/2 mile away and besides gas is to high i drive like an old lady nowadays :oops:

thats why i bought a FORD :lol:

the rears always go in them pos. trucks. my buddy had his done 2 time before it had 75k on it.

THE DANA STUFF HAS NOT CHANGED TOOLING SINCE 1984 AND WONT . SO THE NEW STUFF IS CRAP ,.. THE HAD A VOLENTARY RETIREMENT IN 1996/2000 AND ALL THE OLD GUYS QUIT AND TOOK THE KNOWLEDGE WITH EM .....
FORD 9" IS A SOUND INVESTMENT ANYTHING ELSE IS CRAP THATS NEW .... JUST BUY OLD 9"OR RETRO A DANA 60 INTO IT. TRANS AND ENGINES ARE THE SAME ....
