Question about todays 8.50 race...

Post by BIRDMAN »

MY question is this... I didn't make out in time for 1st qualifier..... rolled back out of the beams and didn't get a slip and run didn't count for the second????? are they going to take that ladder even if they didn't run a 1st round??? or, are they just going to do the whole show over as a rainout/washout, I know if they had ran the 1st round pretty sure it would have been final w/ that ladder.... but since they didn't run a round of racing are they just rescheduling the whole show or just that qualifying group???

Just my ¢.02 Bird, hopefully they call it a wash and rerun both qualifiers and the race. But that is the tracks decision, it would have to be made by the owners. If a ladder had been set and you "did not" make a timed pass you could not be put in the ladder from no data. The ladder is derived from passes made through your cars number in the pre race qualifying. IMO you did stage but would fall to the bottom of the ladder and any qualifiers ahead of you that did make a pass as long as the field was enough to run the proper amount of cars. I'm sure they will chime in on it soon. Good Luck also !!

Yeah hopefully Dave from Atco will see the thread and chime in when there is a decision. I'm going to move this to the Atco section so they see for sure.

I too hope they do a washout and start from scratch.. sucks the weather turned out the way it did.

Birdman I was wondering where you were the first pass, I got a few pics of you on your one pass. I'll have pics up by Monday night sometime.

I actually made it to the track in time, Had to get the car ready myself cause a few of the guys who help me didn't come do to prior obligations.. they were ready thursday night, but when it was rescheduled I was on my own this a.m....... thank god bammann and my dad made it... they rushed and helped me get it ready and I missed the 1st qualifier by like 5 minutes..... REALLY SUCKED!!! then I rolled the beams (MY FAULT) and didn't get a slip 2nd..

JOE SR. was super cool said he hated to do it this way, but with all the bs about rules lately he didn't want to show any favortism by letting me make a late second qualifying pass... I offered to hot lap it right in, and go right in behind I think Bowen was last for second qualifier...... they said no... but when it rained I was just thinking if they reschedule the whole shebang... I may get a "LUCKY DAWG"""""""""""""

I Saw you snappin them pics.. 8-) 8-) and I know that pass was real good.. I had plenty runs thursday to get the tune up right... I just got off brakes too soon and car rolled...

C'omon guys.... if you ran 8.50 and don't want me in say so.. I guess I would understand but since it rained out I was thinking maybe more folks would show with good weather reschedule...

So basically, everyone paid $70 + crew admission to make two qualifying passes. That isnt right. They should at least honor our admission from that day for the next event.

To all 8.50 racers and fans:

Unfortunately due to the inclement weather this past Sunday we were forced to cancel the 8.50 index race. Sorry to say but this race will not be rescheduled. But please hold onto your ticket because you will be able to use it towards your entrance fee for the next 8.50 race scheduled for Thursday June 19th. Since the first round was not completed the race will be looked at as if it never happened.

Thank you for your support and we hope to see everyone soon at Atco Raceway.

Just curious, why was the rained out 10.0/12.0 rescheduled in our original spot, bumping us out? Why are we not being shown the same courtesy? Not bitching, just curious. Thanks.

Is this a points series with pints for qualifying? I have had a similar thing happen in two series I had run and the race were made up as points were involved.
