Hey guys,

Maybe you can help me out with a ? or two....

This summer I will probably bring my car up when I visit some friends, and I would like to give the 10.00 index class a run or two. I am curious about some of the rules.....I have looked at Atco and E-towns sites, haven't really found some of the finite details. I know they use NHRA rules for safety, no problem there....I am just wondering about nitrous timers and stuff like that. I am pretty sure i would have to give my 406 a whiff of the gas to get in the 10.00s...

I have a 6 point rollbar in the car now (all steel 68 camaro), if I click off a 9.99 am i going to get booted for the night?

I will have more questions about the index stuff......later. I would call the track but i don't want to bug any of them just yet-

controllers are o.k. as far as i know. How fast is it now ? Remember that Atco is at sea level so you may go faster there. You may be o.k. with a 2nd gear switch or 3rd gear switch to activate your nitrous if you don't need much.

Mike.........sorry to give ya the bad news but i'm gonna de-tune my all motor combo and run 10.00 index starting the June 19th race since they moved it from the NMCA date.

If ya need some help I'll give ya a hand but if your in the lane next to me during eliminations i'm gonna cut the tree down and scoop up the stripe. I expect to see you go 9.95 after I dump the last 20 feet. It'll just be too late for you then...LOL !!!! J/K !!!

Thanks for the response jay,

My combo was running 10.80's, but we have made a few changes to it, theoretically it should run 10.40s with the engine mods we did to it.......will have the car back together in 4-5 weeks. I have some weight that i will be taking off the car, got a glass hood to put on it and some lightweight brakes too once I get it back together. I am thinking it will bumb into the 10.20's......I run at sea level now, my track is 6 miles from the ocean.

Chasing ? How do ya figure ? it's 10.00....ahh...you are figuring with my Glide I'll be creeping on ya. Or maybe ya don't think I gotta enough on motor alone ? I got plenty on motor alone that I know i'm gonna hafta de-tune 5 tenths out of it to go 10.00. All ya gotta do is cut the light and run the number. How hard can it be ? LOL !

i hope it goes to a 32 car field! putting a cage in the 10.00 car and upgrading the short block right now, don't know if i'll get a chance to test before the first race :roll:

JAY YOUR GONNA NEED TO RUN THE TIRES ALOT HIGHER AND LEAVE ALOT HIGHER WITH THE BRAKE TO HIT THE TREE !!
IF WE TUNE IT FOR THE LEAVE AND THE BOTTLE WE CAN GET THAT .000 LIGHTS AND HAVE THE HIGHEST MPH IN THE CLASS .

i've made alotta changes to the car so i can hit the tree on the footbrake and i have a few other tricks up my sleeve...lol ! I'm changing tire size both front and back so it won't be in the beams as long and i think I'll be able to run alotta mph even on motor. Only time will tell when I get it out there.
