94 mustang 5.0 ho auto with aod-e. its my budies car he told me his car was pulling to the right, so i brought him in one day to do a quick front end alignment. i got the toe in nice, but i noticed he had so much play in the steering wheel. once it was done it seemed like there was a little play in the inner tie rods. i forget what the camber and caster were. one i think is fixed, and the other was out a bit.
the car drove strait but once it hit a bump it would start to drift off to the right again. unfortunatly he didnt have much time for me to look at it after wards realy, it was just a "toe, and go" job real quick after work... just wondering if it could need a rack?? or just the tire rod ends. or whatever else. i wont get to see him for a while again so here i am.
any input would be greatly appreciated.

Re: 94 mustang steering issue
yeah it sounds like the track or the worm gear in the rack is worn . But before you go and replace it make sure the bushings that mount the rack to the k member are not worn and the rack is tightly mounted as well . also check the rag joint too
