For those who went to Pinks on Saturday,What did you think?
I went with a few buddies of mine and for the most part had a good time. We walked around the pits checked out the cars and took pics and of course watch the action from the stands. I think the actual show was very long and dragged out but at least they picked a fast class and not the typical mid 10 second class. Besides the final 16 running, I liked the turbo cars and the quick 8 shoot out. The wheels tand competition was weak except for the white 66-67 Chevelle coupe which put on a show every time it ran down the track.
Post up your comments and any pics you may have taken. I have some decent pics I took .I'll post them up if they come out OK.

The pit side was packed. The spectator side was pretty empty.

it was a good weekend overall... i had a great time, met a bunch of people from this site and other sites, got a short interview this morning in the lanes, had a great time running my car and seein other peoples cars that i dont normally see around here, got to race in front of all those people that was a cool feeling... the stuff they did with the d/r, 8.50 10.5 and the allout quick8 was fun to watch and the wheelstand contest wasnt to bad, it looked like the track wasnt hooking like it was earlier for most cars but that one chevelle made my weekend with that crazy wheelstand... the only thing is tech was a **** nightmare but otherwise i had a great weekend

Yeah I'd have to agree with you on the track conditions. Seemed like the cars that had the nice wheelstands earlier in the day weren't having the same luck. I also think they probably were running there cars harder off the line earlier because they were trying to get into the final 16. I was in their shoes if I don't think I would be putting to much effort into wheestanding my car since there is the risk of breaking parts(which I guess is part of the fun) and they weren't getting anything out of it other than bragging rights and putting on a show for the crowd.
BTW the way I saw your car nice RIDE!!! I actually stopped and took a pic of it. One of the cleanest El Camino's I've seen in a while.

Re: For those who went to Pinks on Saturday,What did you think?
Pink All Out was a lot better than I thought it would be. It was also much more organized than I thought it would be. Registration sucked. And them sending all the drivers to the stands for the meeting and then telling everybody to get their cars to the lanes was retarded. But other than that, I liked it. And for some reason, I kept blowing the tires off so that sucked too!
Rich really does make weird faces when he does the arm drop. And he really is clueless about cars and drag racing. I LMAO when somebody asked him if the tree would be on Auto Start. And his reply was, "Auto Start? I, I don't know what that is. Hey guys, is the tree going to be on Auto Start?" Haha That was too funny!
And October 2nd is the scheduled date for the show to be aired.

I thought it was a pretty cool event. Solid day of drag racing, definitely fun to cover and spectate. Look for pics in a little bit once I go through them.

Re: For those who went to Pinks on Saturday,What did you think?
One thing that I thought was cool was most of the people that were around me in the stands werent dragracing fans but fans of pinks. When they saw the 10.5 outlaws it blew there mind and just to hear them all sayin how they need to go see these cars, and next time were bring this n that was awesome to me. Rich seems like a tool bag but I do think his show has done a lot for dragracing by getting fans out to the track and showing them other forms besides the whole "Lose you Race Lose your Ride" stuff.

Re: For those who went to Pinks on Saturday,What did you think?
i was there all day friday and all day satudray. got there around 6 friday and didnt get into the pits till around 9 or maybe a little after. mike was gone for about an hour, hour and a half when he went to go register (i got to nap. haha). we meet some really great ppl out there while we were waiting to get in. we walked around to see the cars got to talk to ppl we havent seen in a while and meet some new ppl - it was nice. once it was his time to tech, he got in and out w/in 10 mins. which was great comparing to how long it took other ppl. he did his 2 tnt runs and broke something on the last so needless to say, he didnt race in the PINKS event. so we towed home on friday night. got there super early saturday. we pretty much just watched it all day long. and thanks to MIKE (gdr owner) i got crew passses and was able to go up to the tower and the lanes to watch. it was freakin AWESOME! i didnt meet any of the PINKS crew exectp the announcer gavin but that was OK. i think all in all, they really ran the even smoothly and it was alot of fun. congrats to those to made it to the 16. as far as spectators go, i think they def didnt reach their goal BUT once 5pm came around there was ALOT more ppl in the stands in both sides then there was before. at one point, there was even alot of ppl in the pits just walkin around. it was a very nice 2 days even though i am beat today!
Yep, its all in FUN ~ Just call me "Miss Smartass

ya think? I thought that I was gonna melt my shit because he brought me in first in the q8 semi final. I was right. I think that they need to have a meeting with the q8 guys before they run to get some input. We should be able to pull ourselves into the first bulb with the help of OUR crew as we would normally. Then rich can do his jumping jacks as we get into the second light.
As far as the way that the show was run...Registration was a nightmare, tech was just as bad. Tnt was to be open at 2pm. They should have everyone regstered, tech'd and in the lanes by then.
As far as Rich, he may or may not be a tool but he isnt a car person, he is an actor. I think that once you accept that, you dont hond anyting against him for what he does.
I now understand why he is pretty ripped (not jacked) because he does jumping jacks all day long. I didnt think that it really took 12 hours to put that show together.
When it came to racing, it was awesome. The q8 was the best thing ever, eventhough I broke, I had a great time.

Re: For those who went to Pinks on Saturday,What did you think?
As a racer who usually does not spectate, I believe the exhibition took a little long but it can be understandable since the cars do need cool down time and the 10.5 cars need time to be serviced. But they could have found a way to kill the "dead time" when there wasn't even anyone talking on the PA system. And that Gavin announcer for Pinks itself was the WORST!!! I would take Walter Frey, Louis Bloom, Ken Stout or even Bob Frey ANY DAY over that tool bag. All he kept screaming was "...there's nothing left to saaaayyyyyyy..." and then repeated the phrase 3 times!! Shut up!!! And not giving Wayne a 2nd shot at the wheelie contest because of "time constraints" was dick.
However it did look like all the racers were having a great time and the actual races were close on the final 16. I'ld say a pretty good job on pikcing the racers was done and I thought that mustang had the duster until he yanked the front end up a little high. And Raceway had to be happy with the fans that showed up. A very responsive crowd and energetic. I don't know know what number they expected but they made their cash and good for them. I think Pinks will be back in NJ next year

I have to agree Rich is a tool. I have gotten used to him now. I just thought he looked like an idiot bouncing around out there like a boxer flinging his arms around like he was doing some kind of dance. He's a little too dramatic for my taste but I guess he is trying to look good for TV. He definately has no knowledge of cars that's why he surrounded himself with people who do . Gavin definately yells too much. You should of heard what it sounded like on the local radio station(87.9 FM) when he was yelling " BUUURRRRNNNNN OOOUUUTTT!!!!!
I did enjoy when they walked around with the camera and got the crowd into it and when they shot the t-shirts out of that cannon contraption. I snagged a couple!!
That one Black and green Turbo Mustang that ran 6.80's at 211 mph was BADASS!!!!!!
Anyone take notice of the primered 4 door 66-67 Chevelle with the turbo SBC and the silver 4 door 66? Coronet with the fuel injected/ surpercharged 383?
They both I believe where in the 11's. Nice sleepers!! The Chevelle is capable of 10's from what the owner told me. It's crazy what some people put together.
