Regular pan is usually about 4. it all depends on how long you leave the pan off. the longer the pan is off the more that can come out of the converter. When i run a deep pan i ussually run the level about 1/2 quart low. basically to the bottom of the full level on the dip stick. i found this allows the converter to leak down a bit and then when the car sits for a week or two it's not seeping out of the tail housing as bad when the car is in the trailer.

as far fluid coming out of the vent, i've had glides, 350's and 400's do it , all were 1/2 quart low with deep pans, some do it once, some do it every pass. we have a glide in a mid 7 second dragster from a very well know builder that spits a tiny bit out after the 3 pass when the fluid is hot. I've never found a rhyme or reason. I drill and tap all my vent holes and put a hose to a catch can on every trans in every car i build or drive, last thing i need is ATF all over the bottom of the car and especially under the tires.
