How many classes for 12.00 cars with trans brakes and don't forget the 2 step. I don't like it but love to race. Steve

FROM WHAT I HAVE SEEN THIS YEAR, THE GUYS WHO USE TRANSBRAKES HAVE BEEN REDLIGHTING A LOT.
THERE IS JUST 1 CAR I SEE THAT IS TOTALLY OUT OF THE RULES.
AND EVERYBODY KNOWS WHO THAT IS ->>>:chevy: :chevy: :chevy:

Hey guys thanks for those who have commented on our N/A Shootout series, AMI has become a big hit and we thank all of you index racers for that. I have a couple of questions though for all of you that run the multiple series in the area.

-There are important rules to be strict upon, especially those concerning performance advantages....but lettering and cosmetics, does it really matter? Its not gonna make the guy have any advantage on ya and if the guy needs to showcase sponsors who have helped him, is there any harm in that? I know many want it to remain street appearing and all, but lets face it, we are racing them, and to some this will be the most intense form of racing they will ever do, so whats the harm in lettering? I know NMCA wont even allow you to race if you have primer on the car, there has got to be a happy medium I guess.

In our series we do allow a one race waiver on some items to allow them to come test the waters with us, we do travel and those may not be able to follow us the entire tour.I see no reason for them to reconfigure the car just to race once with us. But if they decide to race with us on a regular basis those items must be taken care of. And trust me, the racers will take care of policeing themselves, either by reminding the racers of what is required or to remind me of who needs to be spoken to. LOL. But so far it has all worked out well without any confrontations. Our AMI racers are the coolest to race with, you guys rock!!

For those who havent checked us out yet, we have two events left this season and all are welcome, atleast those who have no power adders. Our season finale at Cecil County we expect over 100 cars in AMI. Survival of the fittest. If you can make it out, come join in on the fun.

i can't believe the amount of people that have come up to me at the track in the last few days about this topic
i really didn't think anyone checked out this section but apparently they do , more than a few people would like to see the 12.0 rules tightened up a bit

Seems to be a lot of good opinions on this subject so here is mine. I whole hartedly agree that all rules should be stricktly enforced. (Dave this means some inspections) Yes it's a street class so the cars should apear that way. Mufflers, no slicks, and my personal pet peeve... no gutted interiors!! I like the rules that are currently in place. I don't care if someone want's to run NO2 turbos, transbrakes, whatever..... The only thing I am absolutely against is electronic thottle stops. Don't feel like running a car that goes 12.0@150mph! Hell I'll run dragsters if they can run a 12.0 I DON'T CARE. They still need to run the number and I can red light just as easy as they can. Once you figgure out how to race on a pro tree then you'll see consistent R/T's of .030 or better. Believe me, I got stomped last year until I figgured it out. Transbrakes don't make you or your car any better.

I don't agree with the trailer idea. It cost my a lot for diesel to drag the car 150 miles to race there, can't even imagine what it would cost in race gas :driving:

drive in cars would be great , but some people come from pretty far away and have a few people with them , they bring grills and food , tool etc , trailer would be more for convenience in most cases
i haven't noticed anyone run electronic or pneumatic stops

i would just like cars that don't look like race cars , maybe somewhat quiet
transbrake can go either way , i'm not scared of them
hell i don't even care about slicks , most 12.0 cars hook anyway so that is not a big deal

just enforce the current rules would be nicwe

If that was a question for me, did you mean race gas? The answer is no I don't need to runn it but mixing race fuel and pump gas keeps my valves cleaner. Makes it easier to scrub the gunk off of them.

Beaver Springs has a cool street car race. They seal your hood, trunk, and gas tank then lead you on a 20 mile drive before qualifying. If you brake any seals durring the race it's a DQ. Haven't done it but it sounds like fun and I would be all for something like that.

What if something breaks? How am i going to get my street car home?

I know a few guys who live 60 plus miles from the track, I'm close to 40 miles, and I usually take my junk to work and leave from there to go to Atco, which is over 50 miles. I also know 2 guys who live 1/4 mile from the track, so what would driving a in the gate prove? Driving the car in the gate won't weed any cars out, just cause more controversy.

Best thing is to just enforce the rules already in place.

The rules don't say that you have to have Ins, Tags or Inspection... Why make more rules, when the ones in place don't get enforced??

The question is, and it's KAB's concern, how do you get the rules in place enforced, without looking like a tattle tale, or crybaby.

The only reason I trailer my car, is so I can tow Dan home if he breaks !!!(LOL)j/k.
I don't care if you have a trans break, drive it,tow it,you can drag it in for all i care
just pass tech, and follow the rules.

ya prick LOL just saying that a lot of the cars in this class, are total race cars even though its a 12.00 class, why have a complete interior if they really arent street car's?
