10.0 Index racing 9/20....who is in

Post by REDGAR »

The heads-up index classes make their return to Raceway Park this weekend, Sep 20, 2008 for the evening session with gates opening 3 pm. Would be great to see a full field in all three heads up classes, the 10.0, the 11.00 and the 12.00.

Let me know if you are planning on making it.

Rules and stuff

Don't think they are going to get a full field untill they gurantee the payout.... Last couple of times we were there , I think with 13 cars the winner only got $175... Something has to be done in order to get more people... Just my 2cents.... What does everyone else think???

I wish we can land a sponsor to do that Brendan but no luck so far.

13 cars that is close. You guys get 15 there and I will make my slug the 16th to get you a full payout.
Best I can offer for now

By the way, it follows a Corvette Challenge...there should be at least three Vettes there to help get you there.

15 cars and it paid $175.00? We just paid out $350. to win-had 7 cars show and paid out in full. Guarantee the purse once, and see what happens. If the racers don't show, then it's not worth worrying about. Carey, we'll need to talk more.I Won't be at US13 for Ram.

I hope this talk is about 2009 season with Cecil on Saturdays!  :D :D
We really need to try and make this happen. I know all the Atco racers will support this and the MSRA DOT class.

He said 13 and it was actually 9 http://corvettechallenge.info/cpg133/di ... m=85&pos=0

I wish I could gaurantee the purse.....I am doing my part. I will put my 10,6 car in the field if we have 15 to get us to the 16.

Matt, you win...I will give you whatever RP does not....deal?

I plan on racing this Friday and Saturday. What is the deal with the 'Vettes? You guys always have plenty of them running in their 10.0 Index class but no one does the 10.0 Index with us. Keegan did it last time, what about Chris or Mike? There are several guys that should run the 10.0 Index with us, same basic rules.

Seth you racing or shooting?

Mike, they always have some excuse or another, LOL. Keegan had an issue with the wheelie bars..not allowed in index. He finally took them off. Chris should be there. I think Shen with the 65 told me he was coming for it. We have a few guys now who can go under and over without the equipment so those guys may hold back.
Mike should be at the track for the morning session, he may stay for the evening but the morning is our 8.50 so not sure.

Edgar, No disrespect aimed at you, just saying if the track can't see what Atco has going on, and isn't willing to match it, then shame on them. As far as paying the difference, how about this. Instead of worring about the Corvair Challenge, drive to MD., I'll pay your entry fee, and you can race for $350.00 to win in DOT. :banghead:

No disrespect taken Matt. I am only pointing out that I want to help the class. Up until the point where a payout can be guaranteed, I will kick in to help us get there. Atco has a great series and it was not built overnight. It takes some time. They can guarantee their payout because they will always have more than 16 cars. They also have only 2 classes and RP has three. They also have sponsorship that E-town does not...yet. Incidentally, it is not guaranteed. I went with a buddy of mine for 8.50 and he was not paid as promised due to low car count.

With that being said, I appreciate your offer but if I could be competitive in your series I would not hesitate to participate. Unfortunately, where I stand right now, is 10.6, maybe 10.5 tomorrow. Still .5 off your pace. If I could make .5 up on the tree, which I have proven over and over, I can't, I would go there. PS, nice shot with "Corvair" I will have you know the Corvette Challenge pays $350 to win and that is guaranteed. I know because I got it there. So if 350 is your breaking point, bring your Corvette...LOL to our session and you will already be here for the 10.0 :D

Next year however will be a little bit of a different story for the Red Sled ;)
