sbf head gasket question

Post by grocery getter »

Im looking for suggestions on what head gaskets to use for a 351w high compression with receiver grooves in head. Ive tried using the fel-pro 1006's but all the damn things do is leak and ive heard of other people having problems with them too. So im trying to find out what you other ford guys are running, thanks.

grocery getter, The Cometic gaskets are rather expensive, but they are good. You might check opinions from people that have used them.

you have receiver groves in the head and wire in the block???? than you need a copper/deadsoft flat stamp gasket .
if you just have groves ya need to match the s/s wire inside to the groves exactly . the cometic or any mls gasket needs a ultra smooth mirror finish to seal and requires a spray coating . the corteco racing gaskets have served us well even on blown/turbo cars with no grooves . if you cant find a hard wire gasket to fit exactly i would try them . or set it for copper !!!
