I am just getting into this type of racing , was wondering if anyone knew how much you can drop your ET by shifting 1000 rpm lower then your ussual shift point , I am assumming we are all making around the same power , just curious , Thanks for the replies .

Re: Tech question ?
It really depends on your combo. One thing you need to be careful about is not shifting it so low that it falls back into, or below, the stall of your convertor. Depending on how fast you run all-out will determine how to go about slowing-down the car. Sometimes a few degrees of timing is enough. Sometimes a slightly lower shift point, but usually not good to do with a 'Glide. A mechanical throttle stop also works, but the better ones aren't cheap! Can't use a "normal" TS like Super Street etc.... Sometimes just lifting at the 1000ft and coasting can lose .1 or more and still gives you the option to get back into it if you need to. I shouldn't be letting my secrets out though should I ................................... ????
