Hello fellas, i'm doing research for my off season engine build. I drive a 3900 lb with driver a body. I want to know how i can reach the 10.50 range with a max of 11:1 comp 454 m/t drag rad's 4.11 gears. it has a small block with potential now but as they say, speed is addictive. Oh, and i do not want to use juice. Any help is appreciated

unless you want a big inch pump gas street motor why put a big block into a sbc car. . a sbc 414+ with afr210 heads at 110.5-1 will get ya done and at a sane rpm

A pump gas 414 sbc w/210 afr's that will go 10.50's in a 3900lbs car! WOW! Where can I get a set of those heads besides Mr. Rogers land of make believe? I think you hit a wrong key on your interenet engine calculator dude.

gee i dont know i think gameracing won the bracket finals in one of these 414+ motors at 10.68 @127 in a full street chevelle .with the old original unported afr210 about 9yrs ago .
the new full cnc 210s and bigger are way better in flow and velocity . just because you cant slap together parts as well as others can , dont be a hater . you can get +1.5 hp /cu.in. from floor sweepings if they work together .the last 11-1 new afr 414 sbc was 655 h/p @6500 and 609 tq@5000 on the dyno. with out pushing it and for a offroad racer it was a little cam!!!!
buy a set of 18 deg. heads and go 427+ you can see well over 700

The 10.5.1 434 that schmidt advertises makes 619 and is equipped with dart 230's.(10.50's???)
The 434 w/pro heads that makes 700hp is not 10.5.1.
Your vega is not 3900lbs.
Radial tire king is not 10.5.1 and does not weigh 3900lbs.
How about some apples to apples comparisons.
Please don't fill this site with misinformation, there are people on here who are actually trying to learn.

this guy asked for a bbc chevy to replace his sbc.that is in his car now and runs well . i simply stated why give up on the sbc.
ya like to throw numbers around and trash talk but ya got nothing to back up the rant but more misdirection. the dart 230 /414-434 10.5 schmidt is a great proven pump gas combo and listed as a pro street motor hydro roller with a 1 yr guarantee... and is 600+ h/p the 400 race pump gas motor i posted on the dyno is beter than that....... oooops mistake 1

the dart 230's dont flow as much as old cnc 215 afrs and their mid lift numbers arnt even close. ....oooops mistake 2

sorry if you cant get junk to run and need to make a 900h/p bbc to get a chevelle to move ,been there with less sorry dont like wasting money or time .. just trying to open up another avenue to ponder.

rtk and Schmidt race motor were brought up as a reference not to intended as a viable option .though rtk claims 2 use pump gas on his first motor and on low compression. WE wont Know, We did not build it . but his sbc full trim car flys on motor and his buddy Jason just backed up my claims with a similar motor in his 36003 camaro went 10.60's at 127 with a pump gas 406 and 230 heads on motor 28" radials and 4.11 gears with no tune up what so ever its 4th pass .
so lets get this right i got two proven pump gas sbc combos running mid tens in street trim on motor . and you keep breaking my balls .
why?????? if it works it works.... the scale /fuel and time slips dont lie so why do you think i am ??? there is no magic et calculator being used or mmc cam select program mentioned but they did nail Jasons car at !0.68 @ 127 and 10.74 @126.8 before he made his passes . so yes i trust them but i only use them to rule out parts and make educated suggestions. you must think Big Ed 's red chevelle is gods gift to efficiency cause his mild bbc 4000# runs nines on the motor

every body knows i run my mouth alot and love to talk trash but if someone want help i'm there!!. I'm never to proud to admit i got it wrong or could do it better . but ya gotta prove it and back it up!!!!!! ask bottom bulb he burned me good on vp fuel and I learned alot more about racegas than i need to know.

too answer the question ,a good stoked 454 pump gas combo is ported 990 heads or rhs 320's with 10-1 a oil fed .650 roller x268str with a 2 1/4 header air gap intake and 2" spacer 950 carb will get ya close .
