Engine Wont shut off.
This isn’t a current issue due to the fact that I sold the truck last summer but still just a little curious. I swapped a 350 small block into an 85 s-10, It was my first swap ever and let’s just say everything wasn’t done to professional standards in the least bit. But here was the issue: when I went to kill the engine it would sometimes shut right off and sometimes continue to run for anywhere from 10 seconds to a few minutes. But do to the fact it was my first swap i had other issues I felt I should address first and i was just anxious to get it on the road. long story short after driving it for a little while I figured out that if the parking brake was engaged at all then engine would shut off normally every time, but if it was completely disengaged it would do as I previously said. I never tried to figure it out but now I’m just curious. Any theories?

Re: Engine Wont shut off.
if the alt, w/pump or fan was spinning down and wired to the igniton feed wrong you could send volts back to the coil and keep it lit off .
