Im currently building a 350 for my street car monte carlo ss im going to put headers on it and i have read that breaking in an engine with headers will mess up or ruin the ceramic coating in them i believe that it is true but has that happend to any of you guys? if you dont mind posting something back i would appreciate it and idk if this is a dumb question but dont be afraid to say if it is or not...
Thanks

i would ask the mfg. if this voids the warranty!!!!! i guess if it is pig rich or lean at any time you could mess up the color . i know they dont warranty used headers when you get them done so it sounds bogus ----wtfdik

I kinda turned mine red on initial startup, due to retarded timing, but purple metal polish fixed them up pretty good, ckeck the picture.

Just make sure you have plently of timing in the motor before you fire it up and get it set to at least 36deg while breaking in the cam.
