You are gonna hafta spend plenty to beat "any car on the street". there are street cars gettin down into the 8 sec. zone.

How do you wanna do it? I think that is your first question. Turbo? Blower? Nitrous? How fast do ya really wanna go?

Safety is also of major concern especially with the chassis. 10 point cage? 12 point cage? mild steel? chromoly? stock susp.? backhalf? mini tub? drag radial? e.t. street? You can spend $10,000 having a shop do the chassis and susp. alone.

you can spend $10,000 or more on the motor alone and if it's gonna be fuel injected and blown or turbo add a few more thousand to that bill.

you can easily spend $2500-$3500 on a good trans and related parts depending on the type of trans.

gotta have a good rear built if you plan on makin serious horsepower above 600 horse so theres another $2000-$2500

now are you gonna pay someone to tie this all together or are you gonna do it yourself? most shops charge $65-$85 an hour for shop labor. 100 hours is EASY to eat up quick.

so...........how fast you wanna go is absolutely relative as to what you have to spend.

What do you consider fast? How much is your budget?

Thanks jays64II,

well like i want it to beat cars like corvette z06 ,skyline, porsche turbo... cars like lambos ferrari 599 gtb, and ford gt..
how fast i wana go: i wana reach 0-60 miles in less than 3 sec i think turbo or twin turbo helps (not familiar with blowers, are they better?)
Money is not my problem.. I have money, no need to worry about that.
what is (point cage)? i need the car to be safe, like not only for drag..
im planin on makin the hp above 600..

jays64II, my car is basicaly stock now.. i wana start buildin it, so i want the names of the parts i need and the total price of everything.. thanks alot man, im glad i found who to ask..

well the parts lists vary depending on the type of racing you want to do and what vendors you want to work with. there are literally hundreds of vendors that make fox body mustang stuff. as far as what product is better than another i really can't say cause i don't play with the Mustangs too much. If you want a car to drag race with but also be road worthy and also handle well you are gonna be splittin hairs to find the best balance between all 3 and still achieve your goal. If you are not looking at going any faster than an 8.50 quarter mile time the safest chassis you can build is a 12 point. If you are in the phila. / south jersey area i can put you in touch with a few good chassis builders. They can probably then hook you up with other parts vendors , engine builders , driveline builders and such to help with the rest of the project. To be honest it would hard for me to just list a buncha part numbers and their prices without knowing exactly what platform you want to build. I'm out in left field with the turbo stuff so i can't really help ya there. To compile a list of part #'s and prices would take days to be honest if you are gonna star from scratch with this project which to me sounds like what you wanna do. It seems to me that you wanna build a world class car to take on all the super cars. That's a tall task. I'm not trying to turn you around but just wanna let you know that it ain't gonna be cheap or easy....especially if you don't have atleast a basic plan.

from the list of cars ya wanna beat you need a road car that just happens to be 1/4 mile quick.
a turbo charger and intercooler set up for efi on around a 348 stroker motor will keep the rpms down and a highway gear and converter happy with out alot of sacrifice in 1/4 mile et . you will want to have a chassis shop put a full cage in the car and race seats . the rear suspension in a fox body is very good for what ya want with adjustable rear shocks and poly /solid stock replacement parts and updated front struts/springs set up for road racing.it will hurt the drag race set up but the turbo engine up wont need to leave hard to run good .
drag race motors run on the ragged edge and are not designed for extended long high rpm use .you need to deal with a dirt track/twisty/roundy guy for experience in the oil, fuel system and cooling. what would live for 300 passes would fail 300 min.s of hard sustained use .

I'm gonna be totally honest with you. If you have never attempted something like this before get together with a professional shop to help and plan your build. You can't just buy a buncha parts , screw em together and go racing. It's not nearly that easy. If it was we'd all be goin 6's.

You are gonna need an aftermarket block for starters. A stock 302 block will not hold 600 HP. They split right down the middle.

I urge you ... if you have the money to spend that you say you have ... to seek out a shop that can do the entire build and that may let you help along the way.

Where are you located anyway ?

reading will only get you so far with this type of build wether it be from a book or the net. What you need is experienced hands on help. I don't know where you will find that in Kuwait. If you don't have the tools , equipment , or some experience you will only get so far and probably make costly mistakes along the way.

Put the car in a very large shipping container, stuff the rest of the container with US 100 dollar bills, so it won't rattle around, and ship it to me @ Gameracing. Just kidding, you need to do some due dilligence, a very detailed plan is needed, with specific goals you want to accomplish. Your starting with a car that does have a lot of aftermarket support, that's good. Building a supercar or should I say, reengineering a car to accomplish a list of goals, gets harder as the list of goals gets longer. Your going up against some of the best cars on the planet, a very ambitious project, not impossible, but difficult. The more research you do , the better, learn about the pro's and con's of these modifications, that will help with the build , and later with ownership, maintanance and operating the machine you create..
