Per Joe Sr., Everything is the same except no two qualifying runs. It's now two time runs, and then the first round will be run in random order. After that it a sportsman ladder.
No mention of how cars will be paired for the first round. I'd give Joe a call if you're still not sure. I myself have a few questions. I just left a message on Joe Jr.'s voice mail. I'll let you know what happens.

Sue did he say why they decided to go with an all run field?
I like the new signature BTW!

OK. Here's the 411. Per Joe Jr. - The random pairing will be like bracket racing. He used the example of four lanes of cars and then calling the lanes up in random order. I would have to assume the all run field opens the race up to more cars, as long as they run 9.00 or faster. I didn't ask him that particular question. First round eliminations/qualifying will determine the ladder.
I guess we'll find out Friday night how this is going to work.

Ali - Thanks. I like the new sig too. Mark did it for me. He is the computer virtuoso!

I can see it now...two time runs..no qualifying
guy runs 9.10 and 9.02.
Atco says you gotta go home
Guy says why
Atco says you did not qualify
Guy says but there is no qualifying
Atco says yeah but you still gotta run 9.0 to get in
Guy says, thought it was all run
Atco says yeah but you gotta qualifying with a 9.0 or better
Guy says but there's only 9 cars here
Atco says yeah but you did not qualify

sound familiar...who's on first....LOL

Funny stuff, are you going to change rules Edgar?? ooh you cant in this series :frown5: . funny your car runs 10's and it sounds like you got a dog in this fight....... lol

i think Atco should do whats best for ATCO, $$$$$. and let the racers help with the rules not someone who never even raced a 8.50..... unlike other tracks............

i think no qualifying is the rule , just like the rule is you ride must be faster then 9.00.

this is so simple imo .

if theres 33 cars (which atco will never get if they race during the week nights) there will be a bump.

Its gonna be fuking boring watching 11 bye runs because we all know 8.50 class isnt gonna get 24/25 or even 26 cars during the week.

So this brings in people waiting in there pits so they can get the bye since theres 10 or 11 of them. This brings up 2 more problems. 1) its going to take longer to run since it takes longer to get them to the lanes and 2) its going to make each event impossible to finish. they had problems trying to finish 8 and 16 car fields, and now there gonna throw in another round which will be 50-70% byes...

slow710 whats up, if theres 26 racers or lets say 27, 1st round will be 13 heads up races 1 bye run. then next round there will be 7 races, then next round 3races and 1 bye. next round semi's 2 races then 1 final. where do u get all these byes from?
or am i missing something ...........

I for one don't like change. I thought last season's rules were fine. Obviously, we have no choice but to 'roll with the changes'. My concern is how are they going to finish this on a Friday night? Last November we were told by Joe Jr. the 8.50 was being moved to run with the Quick 8 10.5 class on the weekend. I just can't see the 8.50, 10.0 & 12.0 finishing on a week night. Granted, July, September and November we run on the weekend, but that still leaves us with four Friday night races. Hopefully they have this figured out & the night races will run smoothly.
