i have a sbf 310 in. motor. block is oringed heads have reciever grooves. the rings stick up .011 and i have .042 clark gaskets. this is my first attempt ever using copper head gaskets and o-ring stuff.
so what is the absolute best way to seal these things, i don't wann ahve to do it twice.
i'm also using ARP 1/2" studs with moly, and i will be putting 20+ psi of boost to this motor, chances are it will evetually see over 30 #'s if it strays together long enough.
thanks john

Re: sealing copper head gaskets
I tryied copper gaskets with SS orings and reciver groves using head studs for years.replaced them at least 3 times...Never blew one but always leaked water into the cylinders....Try many kinds of gasket sealents......I been using Fel Pro MLS for 3 years with no leaks (no rings needed) Good luck Oldhead

thanks for the reply. unfortunately the motor i purchased already has these orings and reciever grooves. i would love to use MLS gaskets, but the machine work and dissasembly isn't worth it.
