Tony...i'm with adam on this one. always warm it up to or just past your normal temp that you would be at just before your burn out. Then before ya go back to the trailer go out in the parking lot where no one is around and do a couple light test launches. bring her up on the conv. like you would to make a pass , hold it , blip the throttle....kinda like a dry hop. do this 2 or 3 times. then park it. cool it slow. let her hold some heat for a lil while.

thanks guys , i will try beatin on it b4 first round
i don't mind it when i'm bracket racing cause it's predictable and i can dial around it , but it sucks when i'm tryin to qualify for 12.0 index and and your not sure how much harder or softer to hit it if you did not qualify first shot ?

see what happens next week

damn , man is etown packed tonite with some fastass cars
shame most of them run no-time

got in the gate at 5 , in the lanes at 540 and got 4 quick passes in and out the gate at 725
did what you guys suggested , got it up to 190 degress and shut it off to soak , then took it for a ride in the back and hit the tranny twice off the line
seems to work , ran what i expected each round but i was more worried about setting up the throttle stop for tomorrows index so i'll see at the next reg backet event when i can hit with no adjustments

first hit off the trailer - 11.79
set the stop 1/4 way out -11.93
bring the stop out to 1/3--12.023
no changes --------------12.027!!

think i'm ready for tomorrow nite
now shower , watch private practice -2 hour nap and off to work at midnite

sounds good Tony. I woulda liked to see the first 2 passes all out to see if the .08 went away but it seem as if the passes with the stop are right in line.

Were the 60' times all in line too? 1/8th? all the other increments?

thanks for reminding me jay , was just about to enter the time slips in my log book and you hit the nail on the head .
on the other passes where it lost .08 the 60 was off around .06
this time the passes were 1.624 , 1.632, 1.637 and 1.638 all staged super shallow

works for me :D
was worried about tonite being warmer than i expected but i think i got it licked , at least i got something to tune from and an idea what to expect .

thanks everyone for the ideas and input

good to hear Tony! ya...that .06 difference in the 60 foot is a killer! Holy Cow!

Just remember....consistency is all about the routine. If you do the routine the same everytime all the time it will all come around. The heat consistency is very important throughout the entire car. Engine , trans , coolant , rear , all fluids , tires....everything. Just think how easy it will be to dial the car when you get into later rounds and you are in a round robin situation. It will be so much easier for you to maintain temperatures cause you prepared for it before you even took your first time shot.

stock brakes all around , disc up front , drum out back . felt like it slid not rolled ?

will tighten up the backs and was thinking , i pump up the front tires to 55lbs for pro-tree lites , probobly not helping the issue

i have to come up with a better way to roll in and stage for protree , i bump in super shallow for reg full tree bracket racing so its always the same and i'm always tight and hard on the brakes

for pro tree i need a little more roll inb for a better reaction so i tend to just release and hit it so it roll in more but its not eaxt and i may not be on the pedal as hard ??

just another thing to think about

do you light both bulbs then come up on the conv. ? try to light the top bulb , then bring it up on the conv. and bump it in. it'll be easier to make those extra bumps you may need to hit the pro tree
