Motor is a BBC with stock located motor mounts. Driving around town, there is minimal evidence of oil. When I hammer it, shows up on the front pass. side of the timing cover all over the pass. side of the block back to the starter, not on the timing cover but begins just to the pass. side of the cover, soaks the hood and towards the firewall, dabs of oil on the wheelwell and chassis, soaks the alternator (low pass. mount). NOT coming from 1.Dipstick tube 2.valve cover 3.pump blockoff plate. Suggestions? I'm getting a new gasket and remounting the timing cover hopefully over the weekend.
thanks for the help, Brian

not sure if the big bock is the same as a small block but one of the holes on the front of the block might go all the way through 2 the fuel pump shaft you might have 2 put a short 3/8 bolt in their 2 stop oil from coming out

Inspect the passenger side of the timing cover for a crack or verticle slice from timing chain slack.

Check balancer seal for leak. What breathers do you use in valve covers or pcv?

On the pass. side, I have the evac breather w/the 3/8 nipple. I'll inspect the timing chain cover and see if it reveals. The crank seal is externally replaceable? Common sense would tell me to pull the balancer, timing cover and go from there.
Thanks for the help guys.
