what bright eyed genius designed atco's schedule ? its the friday before labor day weekend and i get home from work at 230pm and have to go back in at 1am sat morn
do i try to tow 1 hour plus in holiday traffic to atco for 12.0 - which i want to race - and then worry 'bout getting home in time

tow around the block to etown and race mean street and be home in time to put everything away and take a shower before work

Traditionally some of Atco's biggest races have been on holiday weekends. Races held on Easter, Memorial, 4th of July, and Labor Day weekend have always had very strong car counts. In fact Atco Raceway opened on Memorial Day weekend. The biggest drag race of them all, the US Nationals, is held every year over Labor Day weekend.

We understand. Atco tries it's best to schedule all their races so they are convenient but it can be difficult. You can never satisfy everyone, but we strive to. Sorry you have to work but I hope you can make. The weather is going to be awesome which means the track will be in good shape and cars should be flying!! Hope to see you there!

Dave this whole parking deal is getting worse and worse at each event and since you have another big event this weekend what should we do. It's great that you have us all parking behind the tower. I think everyone is in agreement with that. Problem is you have other racers parking there too. If you get a few more cars back there we are going to be in the dirt or outside the gate.

I know what has been talked about in the past but what is the main issue? Is it not having enough spaces, where you park, wanting to keep all the index classes together or something else? We have more than enough room to fit everyone. Before I bring it up to anyone I want to make sure we are on the same page.

So far we have had enough room but if you've noticed each race we have had more and more of the "other" racers parking over there with their super pro cars. I guess they were getting tired of being squeezed in on the other side. Sooner or later we are going to get squeezed out too since they show up at 11 am and we get there at 5. All I'm asking is that you keep a place seperate so we can park together.
I understand what you are saying and I guess it all depends on what time everyone gets there. I can say when I left the facility tonight there were already a handful of trailers and more coming in. The office side was totally open though. I suggest people get there as early as they can. I will be there by 5:00 and if anyone has any parking issues please come to the tower and politely discuss their situation so it can be resolved. I will make a suggestion that will hopefully take care of this inconvenience. Like I said before, we have more than enough room so we should be able to work it out. Thanks again for your support.

well Dave, it's tough for the index racers when you let the summer shootout guys in at 11am and tell us to be there at 6pm. all the big rig guys are holding spots for their buddies and don't want to let the door car guys park near their rigs even though we will be gone that night and not interfere with their weekend. the office side is nice but will it be big enough for all three index classes? it's tight over there for just the 10 and 12.0 guys
How does Atco go from the index race all the other tracks build their programs around to some kind of fill class? I'am out for tonight good luck to all Carey
moving it to fri nite really killed it for me , almost came to blows with some super pro guys who moved my stuff so there friends can park , then trying to get around behind the lanes with 100 dragsters blocking the way
no reason to tow all that distance to be treated the same way i am here at etown
