Removing a leaf from leaf springs

Can i remove a leaf to get my rear suspension softer? It's a 68 Camaro with slide a links and it just seems too stiff, even with all the pre-load out of the links and about an inch gap in the snubbers. If i did remove a leaf, which one would it be?
