Are some people hurting the 8.5 index????
I just recived a letter from Atco stating that on Sunday 3-30-08,in 8.5 Index 10 cars were paid to run the 8.5, and 18 went down the track.....As hard as some here worked to get a 8.5 Index there are others hurting it....What do you think????....Oldhead

1- i dont understand what your saying? some are hurting it???
2- they probably only paid back to the people that went under 9.00(also kicking out vretto's and hull who were testing for radial, and not paying brian hull and birdman for breaking @ the line)
3- its the first event, relax, theres going to be 16-20 cars on a thursday night event and probably closer to 25 cars at the end of the year events
I dont know who you think the people are "hurting" this event or how there "hurting" the event but like i said, just relax

Re: Are some people hurting the 8.5 index????
I am sorry you don't understand....I will say it different...The letter states "based on ticket sales 2 of the people did not pay to run an Index category".and 18 people went down the track in 8.50,with only 10 paying.....If you have more Questions it would be best to call the track.......OLDHEAD PS; I am glad Jamie checked my run card or I would have run the wrong lane...Thanks Jamie

Re: Are some people hurting the 8.5 index????
No one was paid back. People made runs in the 8.50 qualifying sessions without actually paying to run the race. Only thing i can think of is some people were trying to take advantage of the track prep. Figured pay the T-n-T fee, but go out when the fast cars are running. I'm sure the rest of the race everyone will be required to carry their ticket from the front gate with them...

so thats why they only went to an 8 car field instead of a 16. i will probably only race the last race those thursday nights are to much work. they should do like cecil and have all the indexes on one day just my 2 cents that doesn't matter.

I would think that the weekends are full all seasons,I think that possible that Atco can find the people that cheated them and bar then from other races......OLDHEADdana h wrote:so thats why they only went to an 8 car field instead of a 16. i will probably only race the last race those thursday nights are to much work. they should do like cecil and have all the indexes on one day just my 2 cents that doesn't matter.

Re: Are some people hurting the 8.5 index????
So what your saying here is everybody paid something to race on the track and nobody tried to get paid for the index race....oh well no harm no foul.
Why would atco send you a letter if you paid? Something sounds fishy to me. If atco wants to figure out who cheated them all they have to do is watch the video from yourwaynetwork.

got the same letter, didn't think anything of it, I paid for 8.50 and broke qualifying....so I just stood by the fence and watched... I don't get it either. but as long as theyre intentions are to make improvements.... good on them.

Re: Are some people hurting the 8.5 index????
We also got the same letter. We always bring our run card to the lanes each qualifying pass. Very rarely do they ask to see it. It says 8.50 right on it. That problem could have been avoided right before qualifying and the guys that didn't pay to run the 8.50 would have been redirected.

I'm trying to figure out why would they send a letter to the people who did everything right? Seems like they didn't police the staging lanes correctly.

maybe they sent letters to those that they have a record of paying for 8.5 ? Do they match the tech cards to the driver information sheet ?

Sounds like its time for run cards and somebody to punch them at the bottom of the lanes.

Well don't ask that question in public, because then you get made fun of!!!
So let me get this straight 8 cars ran in the 8.50 qualifying sessions that didnt pay the 8.50 index price at the gate?? In other words these were test and tune cars that got in the wrong lanes on purpose so they didnt have to wait for their session???
What did this letter say???

Re: Are some people hurting the 8.5 index????
Only problem I see with that is if these cars are not part of the 8.50 class, wouldn't they be hurting the qualifying ladder if they test during qualifying and no one is policing it?

Re: Are some people hurting the 8.5 index????
well i got the same letter today in the mail. my letter says 18 people went down the track, but only 10 people paid to run, well that explains why they had an 8 car field.
