step right in. I rebuilt my alternator on my Mustang from top to bottom and now it wont work. Any ideas? I put it all together the right way, I'm 100% sure of that.
Voltage doesn't build at all while the car is on, as a matter of fact it drops.
I would have bought a new one but I found out there $135.00 because of a stupid plug I have on the back. I'm use to spending $30 on one of these alternators and wasn't about to spend $105 more due to a piece of plastic on the back

Re: Ever rebuild an alternator
Sorry I can't help...I done alot of GM alternators with never a problem, most of the time I just replaced the bad part..GM's have a special "D" shape hole in the back to help tell where the problem is(regulator or the rest of the alt)...Maybe ford has this to? Good luck....Oldheadmightymouse0355 wrote:step right in. I rebuilt my alternator on my Mustang from top to bottom and now it wont work. Any ideas?
