Ripped out my upper Torque Box! DOH!!! *pics*

Finally made it to the track after I can't remember how long and after the 3rd pass I noticed the rear looked funky but not funky enough that I didn't make another pass...After the 4th pass it looked funky enough that I didn't want to race again. It made it home with no problems but I did some damage...
This is how far the rear shifted.

The actual damage.

Here you can see the box tacked to the frame (under the lines)...YES, it should be flush with the top and left side of the frame!! lol

I'm thinking about doing the WILD RIDES S-Box...that should keep things in order for a while!

I never did the uppers! I only did the lowers and that was longer than 3 years ago!!! Now that I think about it, they didn't even have a kit to fix the uppers when I did the lowers! ha. lol

OK Mike, I'll give you the street car thing, lol. Been behind you too many times too not be one, haha.
Anything else going in besides that, the car hooked good for what it had, things may tighten up a bit and possibly hurt your hook. That gear banging did some damage.

Car definitely hooked awesome in the past! This is the first time out with drag radials and they take some getting used too...plus have to get used to driving again as I haven't been to the track in forever. The first 2 runs spun (2.2 60) then it hooked and bogged (2.0 60) on the next 2...that's when I did the damage. If I had a couple more runs I'm sure I could have gotten some 1.8 60's but didn't want to take a chance. No gear bangin' lately as I've been suckin' bad! lol
Since the rear will most likely have to come out to fix this I think I might swap in some 3.73's to replace the 3.55's as it needs a bit more gear on motor. I think it will still be good when sprayin' too. We'll see. Wish I had a lift in my garage! lol
How's you car? Anything new?

DEF. GO WITH THE S BOX AKA "THE BATTLE BOX"
DID IT WITH MY CAR BUILD 3 YEARS AGO.
WHEN YOU GO TO INSTALL IT,... USE THE BOLTS AND ALSO WELD IT IN.
GOOD LUCK

was it getting any wheel hop? Looks like one spot weld let go, then it started to tear.

I ordered it tonight! Was it hard to install? How long did it take? Did you take the whole rear out when you did yours? Any other install tips or tricks?
(sorry for all the questions)
Thanks

I know the feeling Mike! Mine were ripped apart when i got to Orlando! Mine was worse than that and the tire caught the quarter and pulled it in! We fixed it friday nite, worked on the car till 4 am and still made first round of drag radial thanks from some help from a few friends! Joe (J&E) came over and looked at it and helped us use ratchet straps to help pull them back in place, then i bolted them close to where they were supposed to go with the UPR kit. What a long nite!

That's nuts glad it worked out. What are you going to do to fix them for good? I should get my s-box tomorrow but finding someone to install it seems to be the issue now...

They are now back in place and welded up along with the UPR kit, i think it will be alright. 1.32 60's in a 3570lb car will do some damage i guess! Mine were stock before all of this happend. My lower's were all plated up, and ive never had an issue with the uppers until then.
