building a 383 stroker, and need cam help. heres my info.
motor has 3.750 stroke, 5.850 rods. 10.5:1 compression.
Heads are world sportsman 2's ported with 2.055/1.60 valves. heads flow at about 270cfm.
has springs good to 600 lift.
The motor should pull easily to 6700rpm, but no more than 7000rpm
1.60 roller rockers.
Intake is victor Jr.
4500 8" ATI stall, TH350, 28" tire, 4.11 gear.
Looking to stay with the same converter. I just need a suggestion on cam. The converter I have was used before in a 383 application with a .555/.578 saturday night special solid cam.
I was wondering if I should use the same cam or if threre is something better. I will also be spraying the motor, but I want the most I can all motor. car will be used street/strip, but im more worried about strip performance then the occasional cruise.
any help is appreciated.

Re: Cam selection help
Why solid flat tappet? With the availability of solid rollers and the lack of good oil these days, if you aren't required by a class I see no point. You can get lifters from Herbert for $189 and they're American made. I'm no expert, but I think the Comp XR292R will be a pretty good match. The 110*LSA is a nice compromise between motor/spray.
Just another streeter

Re: Cam selection help
Hydraulic rollers are too expensive, and Im switching to a new top end with Track 1's and a solid roller next year.. The heads I have are already setup for a solid cam.
