Lightweight disc brakes

Post by SuperSport »

I'm not one to skimp on safety, but that said I am looking for some opinions about which brand of disc brakes I should look into for my 68 camaro with a ford rear....

I would like something that works good and lightens the unsprung weight a little, without breaking the bank. I saw some kits in Summit but don't know who actually makes them or if they are worth a flip or not.

thanks for any answers in advance!

You have to be carefull on what you consider light weight brakes.
A true light weight brake kit should only be used for a drag car, thin rotors tend to heat up quick on street driving and can warp quickly, But they are the lightest you can go with other then carbon.
Try Wilwood http://www.wilwood.com/BrakeKits/Pages/11/index.asp
look up dynalite pro series " These kits are light enough to reduce ET's on a bracket car, and tough enough for severe braking "
Also remember you will need to find out what housing end you have because for some reason some body at Ford thought it was a good idea to have 5 or 6 styles.

These kits can be bought at your local speed shop ( c name to left ) for about $575.00

I agree with Rob 110% on this one. I have them all the way around on my Nova. They work flawlessly.

I have Strange Engineering discs on all 4 corners of my car. I don't have any complaints about them.
