not racing related, F350 blinkers - help

Post by BigEd »

Couple of months ago blinkers quit working in the dually. Not all at first, sometimes they would work, sometimes they would flash real fast and sometimes not flash at all.
So I go out and buy a new flasher relay (LF-12) the other day and put in this morning before going out and it worked for about 10 miles - just stopped, no click from the relay.

Now what?

I was reading over on Dieselstop that it maybe the actual blinker switch lever in the steering column.

Anyone have any expierence with this before I go and buy a $80 switch?

Thanks

Im not familiar with the ford wiring, but does it only have one flasher? Does everything else on the stalk work? And do you have a meter to check for voltage at the blinker?

Blinkers and flashers are seperate switch (not sure about relays) but emergency flashers work. Only other thing in this switch is the wipers and wiper spray button and they work.

Upgraded to a newer style relay.
Went out today and tried both the old and the new one and neither one of them would flash.
