Atco Raceways Bike Night Gallery Review 7/17/08

Though it's only photo it's as much as I could get, bikes were running both no time and side by side with numbers. No tower results were availabe for this race since the bike guys like to keep it somewhat quiet. Special grudge match highlights towards the end of the night.

Turnout was very favorable for this first time shot at bikes only with searing heat during the day and just about as bad at night but the racers and fans held in there for a night of quick two wheeled racing. Atco looks forward to more of these as the year progresses so check http://www.atcorace.com and their schedule because there is more coming before the year ends.

Special Thanks to Atco Raceway and their Staff, Steve Holden and Mike Slowe.

Wow, great pics. Gives me a lot of learning material :) Checked out a bunch of pages but I gotta run to work, going to give an in depth look soon

on a side note I was thinking about changing the watermark around that when displayed from our gallery, it looks like what you have there, but if hotlinked they get the big un. Thanks for doing that gives me something to ponder :)

Dave, you're welcome, I didn't get a chance to meet you but it was nice to be on the track, a very good night with the bikes also, you have a winner there. Please thank the guys at Velocity Motorports when you see them for me cause of their invite.

My first time back and it was a long learning curve to say the least, I did realize that even pics for me would have been hard considering the reasons why I had to leave gDR, 4 days is wayy to long IMO when no writing is involved.

Seth, nothing stupendous in there but some extra blurry pics, lol. Matt was always the bike shooter and I lost the use of that flash so I got burned in my plans. I don't see a watermark on the ones I added other than that line at the bottom that I added. I hope to see you soon very shortly aslo BTW.

Mark glad to see you got a chance to enjoy a night at the track shooting like old times. Mike slowe's bike is something else isnt it...the thing just goes..You know from being around me I dont consider myself a bike guy but the first time I saw him riding 200 mph down there I couldnt help but be impressed, Also I hope Nick gets a chance to see this stuff I dunno if he knows about the new board or not.

Well, I think they came out pretty good, if my opinion matters any :) I know first hand how difficult it is to get the low shutter speed panning shots, especially at night at Atco. I would have been right there with you but I had to work that night. I especially like the sunset in the background, I try to do that at all of the night races at Atco.. that is why I start in the right lane on the Index races, and I am stuck there until qualifying is over to make sure I get at least one shot of everyone's ride.

The watermark only applies to pics in the /sitepics folder.. it's a dynamic watermarking php script via htaccess, that way I can change it around whenever and not have to re-stamp each and every pic.

I'm thinkin about heading out this Thursday for some practice if you are interested in joining.

These are my top picks

I talked to Nick and Mike there and most of them go to some psycho bike forum or named something like that. It was weird you not there Carey and hope you are back to stay, no if's and's or butt's, lol.

What's good is this type of night gives room on Index nights for bigger classes since the bike guys let three nights go for one or more by themselves, hopefully the indexes will see they have it almost all to themselves for a few races. But really, the bike guys were very cool and the grudge match was great, intense really.

Seth, I liked the orange one too, Velocity racing had a bunch of bikes there that were sweet. I've been going through your Grove stuff, I'm gonna have to pick out a bunch of yours too.

I haven't panned anything in 9 months except maybe an eggs, lol. too short a lens and not enough light again. Kudo's on your work at Atco cause it is the hardest track to shoot, Period.

Actually we did meet you just don't know me on here! We were speaking by the souvenir stand earlier in the day and then again alongside the guardrail at night.

Thanks again for coming out and taking some great photos!
