First of all, I want to say thank you to all that came out to run tonight in the 10, 11 and 12.0 indexes at Etown. Unfortunately, I snapped an shaft earlier in the day and could not partake. However, that meant I was able to shoot lots of Video. I have a half hour or so of index racing.

Thanks for the supporting the series.
Brief recap of all the class.

10.0 Index was attended by 13 racers.
I am happy to report 2 of the 3 semi finalists were our very own Corvette racers, Chris Young and David Shen along with Carl Ungaro. David took a close win in the final in his 65 Corvette going .070 and 10.003 to Carl's .031 and 10.061 in the 67 Chevy.

11.0 Index was attended by 11 racers.
Again I am happy to report this class was won by one of our Corvette racers, Rob Farley who incidentally won the Corvette 11.50 class earlier in the day. Quick tuning change and a little weight out of the car and Rob was able to double up. He defeated Joseph Caiati (spelling?) in a 1970 Dart. Rob, 1998 Corvette Indy Pace Convertible, caught a break when Joseph broke out with a 10.989 with a .055 tree to Farley's .133 and 11.073 (worst pass of the night).

12.0 Index was attended by 12 Racers.
Joe Albrecht , son of John Albrecht Sr., who drives a black and purple 8 second '85 Monte Carlo in Super Pro, too the win in his 1972 Nova over Bob Ciati (spelling?) in his 1969 Dart. Bob, like his brother, broke out in the final going 11.988 with a .310 tree to Joe's 12.043 on .052 tree.

I will post all qualifying and rounds tomorrow.
Hopefully videos soon after that.

Edgar

Harry left before the tree was activated. I you watch the video around the 8 minute mark (no pun intended) you will see the pass.

Great Video, you did a ncie job. Not sure how both cars could be DQ'ed after watching it.

Regar you were wrong we were both disquialifed. All day the tree was taking to long to come down. I wasn't the only one complaing about it. Second round came me and Mark were staged, it was to long so I took off..... Mark left after me , a car or two and it still never came down... My dad and friends said something to the starter, but the track personal made my decision easy... Not to come back with my whole crew..... " most of the class ".. The first 10.oh I came to, the whale in the tower said I never paid at the gate and called my a lier. That's the way I want my track personal to handle a prolblem... Kid at gate gave me the wrong tech card... ( just bullshit ) I see how it works , if you don't have "RP" sticker, and don't have you wife to complain about wheelie bars..."and he still went 10.00 after taking them off in line" you know who you are CRY BABY!!! Deep staging is another story I'm not getting into. If you have to deepstage in a heads up Index race you SUCK... Well let me stop getting bothered by this lame race.... Regar no hard feelings toward you, call me later if you want, just letting everyone how I feel... I very rarely post, so you know this bothers me...

Oh I see now you were both out in the next round and Carl got a second single.
Sorry about that man. I really do appreciate you bringing the troops.

Can you please let me know if all of your slips say auto start on or do they say off.

Harry I dont blame ya for being pissed off... There is no doubt that the tree takes way too long to activate while frying your tranny on the BRAKE..... Like Edgar stated thanks for bringing your boys and trying to support the class... Sucks if you guys decide to call it quits.....Chris

:beathorse:
That's about the most clueless, ignorant statement I've heard in a while. I deep stage, and I did so in the 12.00 index. My car leaving off the footbrake, with 26" front tires and 5.5" of front end travel does NOT hit the tree shallow, so I have to deep stage. It was my first time ever trying to hit a pro tree and my first time index racing, and I think I did okay. But, apparently I suck.

P.S. Was that your brother I raced in the final? Or am I thinking of someone else?

Um......... Not sure who Hulkdart is but I have no problem with wheelie bars. There is one racer that I wanted racing with us who has wheelie bars and did not compete with us because he will not drive his car without them (Wayne Keegan). I told WP last year to get rid of the wheelie bar rule, last year it was not enforced. I sent my wife to check and see if they were allowed or not simply to get the rule clarified. I could have had people DQ'd for having the bars if I wanted to be a prick, but that's not the way I race. If you think otherwise then that's your opinion. Plenty of people know me there, besides my buddies at Atco and Island and know I don't pull crap.

If you don't like my deepstaging tough! Cut a light and run the number, what's so hard about that? I'm giving up .1 in ET by rolling deep. I gotta make the power to get that back. I leave off the footbrake at 2500 rpm. Maybe I'll try the transbrake sometime. I'm a bracket racer and have been footbraking for 15 years, that's the way I race. The Third Gen F-Bodies have a lot of front end travel, combine that with a 27.5" front tire, 4.30 gears with a 30" rear tire and a 'Glide and you'll see it doesn't move quick enough on a PRO .500 Tree to be competitive. Now, if you don't like the deepstaging call the track, get them to outlaw it, and I won't race the 10.0 Index anymore. Doesn't matter to me, I'm out there to have fun. If you're not, then find another hobby. The payout isn't worth the aggravation is it????????

Now if you have a problem with me PM me or call me but don't air-out your dirty laundry here, ok?

Small Block Nova, First of all little fellow... Mind your business, it was not intended for a nova running 12.0h.. I don't even think I watched a 12.oh that day.. Sorry don't have any brothers...

First of Mr. Raceway Park... Put it together genius, Dart with the hulk on the hood.. ( not to many of them around) That's funny my car is foot braked to... 003,.024,.026 on Saturday... Oh and I did win the first Index race here this year.. Also sounds like I have everything you have minus the glide.. and the knight rider body style.... Oh ya and Hell no the pay out isn't worth the aggrevation... Everyone will tell you I was just as happy with the trophy, because that is still here and the money is long gone... Cost me $200 to get there. Hard to have fun when the track is taking the fun out of it....Don't worry you wont't see up there, because you are right NOT WORTH IT!!

If there were any problems, you would of known on Sat. , witnessed it, saw it, and that's how I feel....

i know i havent been back up there helping a guy since the first race, but it looked disorginazed and "not smooth"
-people didnt know the rules, the payouts were cut, and the bullshit with not paying the full amount all happen the first day. So i figured it was just "growing pains" But apperantly not.
This might be the 4th race (not sure) and it sounds like its stil a bunch of bullshit. Its funny, when the guy with the vette got kicked out of 10.oh @ atco there was 72 frekin people on here complaining, but all of a sudden e-town has some bullshit and thier isnt no one around. its like that little corvette crew and the E-town cult have thier own little series and they dont want any outsiders!!! Cause i know for a fact, after the first round of the first race, there were 4 cars left... All 4 were atco regulars, and people were pist!!!!!!!

Its kinda funny that the 10.oh guys that went up thier are the easiest to get a long with in all the clases and there getting a hard time, Somethings up!!!!

but then again i guess thats why Atco has 7 times more cars on a thursday night, then E-town does on a saturday

VERY WELL SAID. :iagree:

EVERYONE KNOWS I TRAVEL 1-45MIN- 2 HRS TO ATCO FOR EVERY INDEX RACE.
BEST GROUP OF GUYS TO RACE WITH.
I REALLY DON'T CARE IF I WIN OR LOSE WE JUST HAVE A GOOD TIME AND HELP EACH OTHER.
ETOWN IS 5 MIN. FROM MY HOUSE.
WITHOUT THE ATCO CREW COMING UP THIS WILL BE OVER THIS YEAR.
MAYBE 4-10 CARS THAT'S IT.
MYSELF, CRAIG CURTIS AND SOME VETTES.

JUST MY THOUGHTS,
CHRIS

Not for nothing but out of the 6 guys that posted in this thread 2 are from that little ETOWN corvette colt..LOL...
I Agreed with Harry... Not looking to start trouble and I would race at all the atco races if they werent thursday nights. I live 3 1/2 hours from Atco and wouldnt make it with work....... It sucks thats there seems to be tension between Atco regulars and Etown Regulars....

Listen man, I invited you Atco guys to come up here and kick our asses and you did. I have no problem with it. I don't like losing but that's part of life. Curtis kept kicking my butt last year but that didn't stop me from racing in that class. I do it just for fun. Don't wanna hear any BS about who's doing what. Put your car in the beams and race.

Now tell me why my deep staging bothers you. I never even lined-up against you. Why do you care? I remember the yellow dart, don't remember meeting you. Maybe I'll buy a spare set of wheels and go down to Atco and race "YOUR WAY". DOT tires or whatever BS they call for. No Deep Staging. Maybe I'll get my suspension setup so I can race like a "REAL MAN".

This was susposed to be fun. What are you making such a big frickin' deal out of?

This is a bracket race. This isn't Heads-Up racing. Same thing as running Super Street, Super Gas, Super Comp. We are all running against a fixed index. Make your car run the number, pretty simple huh?

If these index classes die at E-Town so be it. I race Friday nights in Mean Street, currently in 5th. I race on certain Saturdays in the Pro Dial Dash, have been 1st all year and that won't change. I race on Sundays in Pro and Top Street. I didn't do too well in Pro but I did qualify for the Bracket Finals. I finished 6th in Top Street. So, as you see I do a lot of racing there. I have plenty of classes to run in without the index classes, I simply come out for that race to have fun. Seeing people like you type shit like this is what will keep me away and others as well.

Oh, now I understand why he is soooooooooooooooooooo pissed.

He left before the tree was activated and got D.Q.'d.

Well, last year I had a problem with the tree too. I had a bye-run on one of the rounds. Did my burnout. Went up there and staged against the convertor. Tree never activated. I backed-out of the beams, the starter waved me back in. Again, the tree wouldn't activate. After 4 times staging the tree finally worked. I totally missed it since I figured it wouldn't work again. Trans was hot as hell after all that time sitting there against the convertor. Sometimes shit happens, just gotta deal with it. You don't see yellow you don't go.

Why didn't you two go to the tower and ask to re-run? I wouldn't have cared. Stupid to have two people D.Q.'d. I'm sure the other people in our class would have let you guys re-run or at least let the Mustang back in. We're out here for fun. This isn't how we make a living. There are no points to be gained or lost.

Sorry you guys both lost that way. I didn't know about it until the semis.
