Was looking at the rules for Atco and E town , noticed that Atco requires DOT tires , are they strict on this ? wish everyone had the same regulations before I buy another set of rims and tires .

They are very strict on it.

To be safe, go with DOT's and you can run both as well as MSRA if want another option.

What's the difference between the Hoosier Quick Time Pro D.O.T.'s and the Hoosier D.O.T. Drag Radials?

If I'm going to buy a second set of tires to go run at Atco I want to get something that will work for me. I don't care about tire growth on the top end, doesn't matter if they do or don't.

CM the QT pro's are a wrinkle wall "dot' slick. I've run them in the past but they don't last long and you still get the top end dance that you would with a slick. I saw on the other topic that you've been running slicks for 10 years?! Give a radial a try. Hoosier and Mickey Tompson both make a great dot Drag radial that HOOK!!! These tires are awsome. They last ( I get about 100-120 passes out of them) and they are very stable at high speeds. At 120 mph it still feels like a sunday drive. You can run much higher air pressure with a radial so you might find that the car will work better for you. The MT's are dirrectional so rotating them requires breaking them down. The Hoosier's are not so that makes them a little more friendly. I'm on my third set this year and I will NEVER go back to a bias ply or slick!

Hands down, go with the mickey's . They work alot better, but the main thing is last longer... Some people are only getting about 30-35 runs out of the hoosiers. You can almost double that or more with the mickey's....

and limit the burnout, they don't need much, your just wasting rubber for no reason...

Bummer!!!!

I am out at Maple Grove for the NED Bracket Finals and had some time (a lot of time) to kill between timeshots so I went over to the Hoosier dealer and got a set of 29 * 11 Quick Time Pros so I can go race at Atco. :(

Well, I am only using those tires and wheels for the Atco racing so they'll last me a long time, especially with those Atco guys putting me on the trailer early! :)

I don't like the old Weld Pro Stars I had them mount them on but they'll do for the 10.0 Index stuff.

By the way, I've been almost 147mph on my 29 * 10 Hoosier slicks and they were perfectly stable (16 psi) so I hope the Quick Time Pros work the same.

Hey, another stupid question: What about the front tires, does it matter what they are? It's not like we're running some kind of DOT tire only class is it? Have MT Front Runners, not street leagal, but who cares. The rears are the only thing that matters at Atco, right?
