Are mini alternators good for street use ?

I use the small 105amp gm alt from the 90's. I retain the idiot light in the dash and the thing puts out 14.3 volts at any rpm...

i run the same gm mini alt on mine.. they came on gm pick-ups 6 or 8cyl.. && chevy lumina's with a 3.1 v6

I dont know what your looking to spend or the use, i got a East coast auto setup on my dragster money well spent.
